Congratulations go to Ivor, Angharad and Leisa from the Brecon & Builth Wells Offices, who tackled the Waat4 Challenge along with Ivor’s daughter.
It’s a charity event, which before the day had already raised £300,000 for many good causes and charities such as Brecon Mountain Rescue, Wales Air Ambulance, Teenage Cancer Trust, PC Rathbones Blue Light Fund and Help for Heroes.
The route took them an unusual way to the top of Pen Y Fan, which included some much steeper climbs than the ‘traditional’ paths. They managed to complete the task in 8 hours 34 minutes, and placed a very respectable 20th out of 51 teams.
Angharad said ‘It was made harder by the heat that day; normally you will find a welcoming breeze at the top of the mountain, but not this time!’
Well done to everyone who took part and raised some much needed money for very worthy causes.
