The rugby season came to a close this weekend for our local clubs and what a fantastic finish it was.
On Saturday, Luctonians RFC hosted Blaydon in a playoff to regain their place in National League rugby. The performance will be talked about for years to come, with the home side dominating a very strong opposition. After holding off a fierce start from Blaydon, Luctonians’ class came through with a flurry of well worked tries in the first half. The end result was 31-17 to give Luctonians a deserved spot back in the National Leagues.
Sunday had more excitement in store as Brecon RFC competed at the home of Welsh rugby, the Principality Stadium, against Bonymaen in the National Plate. The game was an end to end spectacle, with Brecon managing to maintain a 23-21 advantage for the last 10 minutes to become National Plate Champions.
Both games showed incredible team spirit, but a special mention goes to Ewan Williams, Captain of Brecon and part of our sales team in the Brecon Office for an outstanding performance and admirable leadership.
Caleb Roberts are proud to be associated with both clubs and wish them every success for next season!
